Sarah has created a lifestyle of service to those afflicted by sexual abuse after learning to forgive those who have inflicted physical, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse upon her as a child.
Over the years Sarah and her husband have adopted two and fostered thirty-seven children. During this time, she became an entrepreneur and for nine years designed personalized wedding and bridal shower invitations while home-schooling her children. With a desire to help other, she became a paraprofessional. For seven years she worked in the public school assisting children in the itinerate, autistic, and emotional support classes. Occasionally, helping in the life skills classroom. At times the teachers allowed her to take over the instruction of the classroom and teach students Math, Art, and Life Skills.
With a child of her own on the spectrum, she realized he needed a different style of learning to succeed. Together with her son they traveled to multiple location across the US helping Samaritans Purse with Disaster Relief efforts and Rebuild projects where they learned the hands on skill of how to build homes from the foundation up. Together they learned how to frame, seal and install windows and doors, wrap the house, install siding, and roofing.
As Sarah uncovered the truth of her childhood abuse, she realized she was a survivor of domestic minor sex trafficking and now focuses her attention on helping victims and survivors through their healing journey.
After many years as a part-time ministerial student, she became ordained as a Chaplain. A few years later she became an author. Her story, A Journey Back to Restoration, has been sold internationally in at least nine different countries with almost 3,000 copies sold. She is also an artist, and the founder of TWIGS Restoration Ministry.
